Stanislaw Galek

Stanislaw Galek (1876 - 1961) was active/lived in Poland.  Stanislaw Galek is known for Painting.

Painter and sculptor, known primarily as a landscape painter (Mountains). He initially studied at the School of Professional Timber Industry in Zakopane, where he later - in the years 1896-1899 - taught as an assistant to Edgar Kovats.  In the years 1899-1900 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under the direction of Jan Stanislawski and Jacek Malczewski.  Then, after 1900 he studied at the Königliche Kunstgewerbeschule in Munich and the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris with Jean Léon Gérôme.  After returning home, he settled in Zakopane.

In 1910 he traveled to Italy (landscapes of Capri) and the Crimea.  In the years 1912-1916 he taught at the School of Professional Kolomyja, and in 1916-1931 in the Wood Industry School in Zakopane.  He was a member of the "Podhale Art" Society, in 1925 he was a member TZSP in Warsaw.

Painter and sculptor, known primarily as a landscape painter (Mountains). He initially studied at the School of Professional Timber Industry in Zakopane, where he later - in the years 1896-1899 - taught as an assistant to Edgar Kovats.  In the years 1899-1900 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under the direction of Jan Stanislawski and Jacek Malczewski.  Then, after 1900 he studied at the Königliche Kunstgewerbeschule in Munich and the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris with Jean Léon Gérôme.  After returning home, he settled in Zakopane.

In 1910 he traveled to Italy (landscapes of Capri) and the Crimea.  In the years 1912-1916 he taught at the School of Professional Kolomyja, and in 1916-1931 in the Wood Industry School in Zakopane.  He was a member of the "Podhale Art" Society, in 1925 he was a member TZSP in Warsaw.

Since 1900, he showed his works in numerous exhibitions, including repeatedly in the TPSP in Krakow and Lviv, in TZSP in Warsaw (continuously since 1907), Poznan (participation in the Universal Exhibition of 1929, domestic.). Also he exhibited abroad in Vienna, Berlin (1910) and Budapest (1930).  After World War II he participated in exhibitions in Zakopane ZPAP; in 1960 there was a jubilee exhibition.
